Why Immigrate to Manitoba?

Prairie Tokki LV 10 21-12-11 603

Manitoba is not the first place most people think of moving to in Canada. Yet, Manitoba has certain benefits that you may not (and often will not) find any other places! What are these reasons? Here are 7 of them telling you why Manitoba may be the place for you to immigrate to.

Easier to immigrate to Manitoba

Compared to many other places in Canada, it is easier in Manitoba to get a permanent residency or citizenship. This is due to Manitoba's lower population. There are less people here applying for residencies and for jobs so you will have a much easier time getting those things here in Manitoba. Because of that, you will get all the benefits of being a Canadian MUCH faster than if you move to other places.

Lower cost of living

Things are just cheaper here! Houses, apartments, education, bills, food, and many other expenses are much cheaper in Manitoba (even in Winnipeg) than many other provinces (sometimes a lot cheaper). So save some money and use it for things to improve the lives of you and your family, instead of wasting it on overpriced living costs.

The average cost of living in Winnipeg, Canada:

  • Family of four estimated monthly costs are 4,022C$ without rent.
  • A single person estimated monthly costs are 1,134C$ without rent.

Job opportunities

There are many jobs in Manitoba. It's true that Manitoba has a smaller population, but our economy is very well developed and we have a large job market! In fact, Manitoba is one of the fastest growing commercial provinces in Canada with many businesses opening up each year in Manitoba!

Yes, Manitoba has less people but that's insecure strength! Because there are less people than in many other places, you will have less competition and thus can actually get a decent job. Plus, you get a better salary, on average, which is quite a bit higher than the national average. That combined with lower living costs means you will have a richer life.

Good post-secondary education

Manitoba education is decent and consistent. There are many universities and colleges that you and/or your children can attend (and actually get into!). Getting into a good school and receiving a good education is not at all difficult in Manitoba! It is fairly easy to get into any university in Manitoba and the schools are well rated.

So while we may not have some place like McGill University, we have decent universities you and/or your kids can actually get into and benefit from! Plus, our tuition is much cheaper than many other unviersities across Canada or even abroad. So again, money savings…which brings me to the next point:

Good standard of living

Manitoba has a good standard of living. You will get paid more on average and spend far less on items and living costs. Thus, you will have a good chance of becoming well-off financially if you put the work into it. You get schooling and most forms of health care for free and you can make a good life here for you and/or your family.

Amenities & facilities

Manitoba has a great infrastructure and community! There are lots of top-notch entertainment providers, restaurants, pubs, transport providers, academic institutions and healthcare services to Manitoba. The lowered cost of living means you pay a lot less for these services, than in other places.

Multi-cultural population

Manitoba has a very large per capita foreign-born population. As a result you will find amazing diversity in cultures, foods, events, ways of life, etc. within Manitoba. Especially Winnipeg! If you're immigrating from another country, it's pretty much guaranteed you'll find someone from your home country you can connect with in Winnipeg.
