JCAM Bon Odori Matsuri      Saturday, June 24 from 3-7 pm

What do watermelons, dancing and singing have in common?
They’re going to be at the JCAM Bon Odori Matsuri!!

We’ll be having bon odori dance participation, karaoke sing-a-longs and the watermelon hit activity for kids and adults throughout the afternoon.

           It will start with kids time - the watermelon hit activity for kids, various games, face painting, a bouncy castle and of course bon odori dance participation including Pokemon Ondo.

If you’re hungry, there will be pork yakisoba, vegetable croquette on a bun, chicken yakitori, chirashi mixed rice and inari sushi.  A kids meal will be yakisoba, takoyaki and taiyaki.

If you’re hot, we’ll be featuring green tea kakigori along with the usual flavours.

If you’re thirsty, you can grab a soft drink, juice or for the adults, you can grab a Japanese beer, whiskey or cold sake.

If you want to have a souvenir of the event, JCAM will be selling their souvenirs and crafts. Yuka Bakery and Dwarf no Cachette will also be joining us and will have various items for sale.

So dress up in your best yukata or happi and join us for a fun-filled afternoon!

JCAM is pleased to announce that funding for the Bon Odori Matsuri has been approved from the Arts, Culture and Sport in Community Fund’s Community Celebrations Program of Manitoba Sport, Culture and Heritage.

The Consulate General of Japan in Calgary will also be providing funding for the Matsuri.

We would like to thank Manitoba Sport, Culture and Heritage and the Consulate General for their generous funding and helping to make the Bon Odori a successful event.

We also would like to acknowledge all of our business sponsors.  Their continued support allows JCAM to continue to bring events like this to the community of Manitoba.

Rain or Shine

Bon Odori is still happening on Saturday, June 24 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM!

If it is raining heavily, we will move into the Centre. Of course, things will have to be scaled down and we will have to limit the number of people in the Centre at one time, but we’ll have a fun time!

There will still be games, singing and some dancing.

You can buy yakisoba, croquette bun, yakitori, chirashi and inari sushi to eat. The kids meal will be yakisoba, takoyaki and taiyaki.

Buy a green tea kakigori or other flavours will be: strawberry, peach and blue raspberry. There will also be soft drinks, juice boxes and water to purchase and for the adults, there will be Sapporo and Asahi beer, Toki whiskey, and cold sake. Debit/credit payments will be accepted.

Also for sale will be JCAM souvenirs/crafts and Edokko, Dwarf no Cachette, and Yuka Bakery will be selling their products.
