3. Crave

Crave has a variety of options especially with Showtime content and some classic HBO shows. The basic background will get you many shows and movies but to get the full range of HBO shows and/or the latest Hollywood movies as well as kid content then you'll need to buy add-ons which, if you buy a lot of them, are much more expensive.

This video service is fairly cheap and has a wide range of content from big name celebrities. They have lots of movies and documentaries, TV shows, and kid-friendly viewing options.

7. The Roku Channel

The Roku Channel is available through the Roku device and many smart TVs. It's different from some of the other ones because it collects other channels and streaming services and makes them available in one convenient place. It gives you access to tons of free channels, subscription channels, and rental channels.

You can watch television, movies, news, documentaries, and sports on channels like Tubi, Cineplex Store, Red Bull TV, TED, and international channels.

24. Club illico 

This streaming service provides only French content mostly from Quebec. That includes French versions of popular TV shows and movies, such as documentaries, horrors, comedies, dramas, international content, fantasies, family friendly content, and more.

25. Plex

Plex is great for people on a budget because it offers thousands of movies, live TV, news, web series, and shows for free. No matter what type of genre you like, including horror, Bollywood, sci-fi, romance, drama, anime, and more, you’ll find them.

All you have to do is put in your email address and create a password to start watching. There’s also a premium version called Plex Pass that gives you more options, like adding parental controls and a mobile sync so you can watch movies and shows offline. All the Plex options, even the paid account, have ads.

Tubi is a streaming services that’s available completely free! There are thousands of movie and show titles on this service, and you never have to pay a dime. You don’t even have to register to watch movies, but you will have to create a free account if you want to add movies to your queue. You do have to deal with ads, however.

27. Kanopy

Kanopy is unique because it’s completely free and completely ad-free. This is because it is available through public libraries and schools, so you can watch films on here for free! All you need is a student card number or library card number from a participating library, college, or university to watch.

Most of the content is a little more sophisticated than what you might find on the more mainstream streaming services, and you can watch thousands of movies, foreign films, critically acclaimed flicks, and documentaries, all at no cost.

Prices:

Kanopy is free through participating universities and libraries. Check if it is available to you through their find your public library or find your university.
