If you have an emergency but can't talk then call 911. Wait for an answer then use your telephone's keypad to ‘talk’ to the dispatcher. Press 1 if you need police, 2 for fire and 3 for an ambulance.
You can also text 911 if you live in a populated area.
- Enter 911 in the number field (who you're sending it to) on the phone.
- Tell them your emergency (what the emergency is, your location, and if you need police, firetruck, or ambulance).
- Send message
- Once you get a response and begin talking to a dispatcher you can ask additional questions.
